If you wish to get additional information about shortwave listening, it is recommended that you obtain publications related to this hobby. Some of these publications are bulletins that dx clubs offers to their memberships. Besides, there are books and magazines that are referred to several aspects of listening and dxing, and some of these are listed below.

  • World Radio TV Handbook: considered the "SWL's Bible", it contains schedulesm frequencies and addresses of shortwave broadcasting stations, organized primarily by country. It also includes a by-frequency listing of shortwave stations and equipment test bench of receivers. Annual publication.
  • Passport to World Band Radio: this book provides a detailed frequency listing of all shortwave stations from 2.3 to 26 MHz, showing at glance the station name, location, frequency, time, language and power. Annual publication.
  • Shortwave Receivers Past & Present: a comprehensive guide to over 600 shortwave, amateur and commercial communications receivers manufactured in the last 55 years.
  • The Complete Shortwave Listener's Handbook: this handbook covers virtually all introductory bases to the hobby of shortwave listening. It contains a chapter devoted to international broadcasting, organized by country.
  • Monitoring Times: a monthly magazine that contains a detailed monthly section on what can be heard on shortwave. Also has articles of interest to SWLers including medium wave, long wave, and pirate radio.
  • Popular Communications: esta revista contém uma this magazine contains a section on shortwave frequencies and broadcasts. Also of interest to medium wave, ham and pirate radio listeners.
