DX Clubs

 

If you are is really interested in shortwave listening, joining a DX club is a excellent idea. Several of these clubs have a bulletin (typically monthly), that constitutes an important source of listening tips and equipment news. Through these DX clubs, shortwave listeners can also divulge their own experiences in the hobby (listenings, received QSL's, hints, etc) as a way of exchanging information with other SWLers. There are hundreds of DX clubs around the world, most in North America and Europa. Below are listed links for the web pages of some DX clubs.

  • DX Clube do Brasil (DXCB): the most active DX club in Brazil, founded in 1981 by Samuel Cássio Martins dos Santos and Márcio Roberto Ferreira Bertoldi. It has a monthly bulletin, entitled "Atividade DX", edited in Portuguese. Besides this bulletin, there is a weekly electronic bulletin (note: "DX Club do Brasil" is the actual name of "DX Clube Paulista").
  • Santa Rita DX Club (SRDXC): the first Brazilian DX club in Internet, was founded in 1994 by a group of DXers of Santa Rita, PB. It has a weekly electronic bulletin (in Portuguese), called "Boleim Informativo do SRDXC".
  • Clube DXista da Amazônia (CDXA): a Brazilian DX club (situated in Belém, PA) in Internet, maintained by Djaci Franklin da Silva.
  • Cumbre DX: the bigger electronic bulletin of the world, distributed weekly by e-mail.
  • Grupo Radioescucha Argentino (GRA): DX club from Argentina that has a complete, weekly, electronic bulletin, "Conexion Digital", besides the magazine "Conexion GRA" (note: "Grupo Radioescucha Platense" was the old name of this club).
  • Asociación DX Barcelona (ADXB): this DX club from Spain offers an excellent magazine entitled "Mundo DX", with useful information to SWLers and DXers.
  • Asociación Española de Radioescuchas (AER): the first Spanish DX club in Internet, was created in 1991 as result of the fusion of three Spanish DX clubs. It has a monthly bullettin, "El Dial".
  • World Wide DX Club (WWDXC): founded in 1966, this German club does not claim to be the biggest or best DX club in the world; nevertheless, it offers to its members and subscribers a good monthly bulletin (in English) entitled "DX Magazine".
  • Ontario DX Association (ODXA): Canadian DX club for radio listeners, organized in 1974. "DX Ontario" is its monthly publication.
  • Associazione Italiana Radioascolto (AIR): a Italian DX club that has a publication in Italian entitled "Radiorama", with informations and articles about DX.
